About Kivalo Fine Cabinetry
Kivalo Fine Cabinetry was founded by Tamas Zsoldos, a talented carpenter from Hungary that came to Canada in 2002. He studied carpentry and cabinet making back home and was trained by highly experienced European Master Craftsmen.
In Canada, he started working for a hardwood flooring company. His talent was almost immediately captured by a custom home builder who hired him to work for his company. In a short amount of time he became the foreman responsible for completing work for custom built homes.
In 2005, Tamas felt ready to start his own business which he called Woodpecker Finish Carpentry Inc. The main focus of this company was detailed trim work and custom cabinetry. It was a success. He gained clientele over the years strictly by word on mouth, because his work spoke for itself.
Through the years, Tamas realized that his true passion was custom cabinetry and in fact in 2014 he decided to focus on specializing in custom cabinetry and at the same time rebrand his business to reflect more of himself, culturally. This is when “Kivalo Fine Cabinetry” began. The word Kivalo is an Hungarian word that means “excellent, brilliant, distinguished, great, high-class" and that’s the mission of Tamas and his company, to deliver excellent products and services.
