About Kivalo Fine Cabinetry

Kivalo Fine Cabinetry was founded by Tamas Zsoldos, a master craftsman trained in the traditions of European carpentry and cabinetmaking. Educated in Hungary under esteemed Master Craftsmen, Tamas developed a deep appreciation for precision, balance, and enduring quality.

After immigrating to Canada in 2002, his skill and attention to detail quickly distinguished him within the custom home industry. He was soon recruited by a high-end home builder, where he advanced to foreman, leading the execution of finely crafted, custom residences.

In 2005, Tamas established Woodpecker Finish Carpentry Inc., focusing on refined finish work and bespoke cabinetry. The company grew organically through word of mouth, built on a reputation for excellence and uncompromising standards.

In 2014, Tamas refined his vision and dedicated his practice exclusively to custom cabinetry. The company was reimagined as Kivalo Fine Cabinetry, a name rooted in his Hungarian heritage. Kivalo translates to excellent, distinguished, high-class—a philosophy that guides every detail of our work.

Today, Kivalo Fine Cabinetry creates timeless, custom cabinetry defined by craftsmanship, restraint, and quiet luxury.
